# Already on Gorgias? How to automate support and lower costs

Three real options for a Shopify brand with 10 to 30 agents on Gorgias. Priced at 20,000 conversations a month, with the arithmetic shown, and with the cases where staying put is the right call.

> **Amit RG** is Richpanel’s founder. He has read the call transcripts of 101 support-platform deals from Dec 2025 to Jun 2026, most of them brands on Gorgias. On X: [@realamitrg](https://x.com/realamitrg).

## The short answer

#### If you run 15 agents on Gorgias at 20,000 conversations a month

You have three options. Turn on Gorgias AI Agent, layer Yuma or Siena on the Gorgias helpdesk, or move to Richpanel. With half your conversations resolved by AI, they cost about **$15,150 to $20,830**, **$13,650 to $15,900**, and **$5,485** a month. [[1]](#src-1)[[2]](#src-2)[[3]](#src-3)[[4]](#src-4)

Stay on Gorgias if its AI already resolves most of your volume at a price you accept, or if you run under 5,000 tickets a month. Move when the AI stopped improving and your renewal is inside 90 days.

$1.26per AI-resolved Gorgias ticket past the Advanced allowance at $0.90 AI, because the ticket fee bills too. $1.86 at list overage

~$0.20per conversation the Richpanel AI handles, plus $99 per human seat

50%of eligible conversations resolved by AI in 30 days, or every dollar back

100%of your remaining Gorgias term we can buy out, so you never pay twice

Prices are Gorgias, Yuma and Siena list rates, checked on their own pricing pages on 2026-09-24. Above 5,000 tickets a month Gorgias sells a custom plan, so your real quote may sit lower. ## Three options for a team already on Gorgias

Each option keeps a different amount of what you have. That, more than the AI, decides the work.

| Option | What you keep | What changes | How the AI bills |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **A. Gorgias AI Agent** | Everything. Same inbox, rules and macros | A switch in settings | Per automated interaction, and each one also counts as a helpdesk ticket |
| **B. Yuma or Siena on Gorgias** | The Gorgias helpdesk | A second vendor runs the AI through the Gorgias integration | Yuma per full resolution, in annual bundles. Siena $0.90 per automated ticket plus $750 a month |
| **C. Move to Richpanel** | Your history, tags and macros, imported | A new helpdesk and one cutover | ~$0.20 per conversation the AI handles, plus $99 per human seat |

Gorgias states the double charge in its own pricing data: “Each automated interaction also counts as one helpdesk ticket.” [[1]](#src-1) A resolved conversation bills twice. That is the line to watch as the AI does more of the work.

## What each option costs at 20,000 conversations a month

Same volume, same 50% AI resolution rate for all three, annual billing. Human salaries are left out, because they are the same in every column.

| Monthly cost | A. Gorgias AI Agent | B1. Gorgias + Yuma | B2. Gorgias + Siena | C. Richpanel |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Helpdesk | $6,150 | $6,150 | $6,150 | $1,485 |
| AI | $9,000 to $14,682 | $7,500 | $9,750 | ~$4,000 |
| **Total a month** | $15,150 to $20,832 | $13,650 | $15,900 | ~$5,485 |
| Total a year | $181,800 to $249,984 | $163,800 | $190,800 | ~$65,820 |

### A. Gorgias AI Agent: $15,150 to $20,832

Helpdesk: the Advanced plan is $750 a month annually for 5,000 tickets. The other 15,000 tickets at $0.36 add $5,400. Total $6,150. [[1]](#src-1)

AI: the plan includes 530 automated interactions for $477. The other 9,470 at the $1.50 overage add $14,205, for $14,682. If you negotiate $0.90 on all 10,000, the AI line is $9,000.

### B. Yuma or Siena on Gorgias: $13,650 to $15,900

The Gorgias helpdesk stays at $6,150, because every conversation is still a Gorgias ticket. Yuma: 10,000 resolutions a month is 120,000 a year, its Scale bundle at $90,000 paid upfront, or $7,500 a month. [[2]](#src-2)

Siena: $750 platform fee plus 10,000 automated tickets at $0.90, or $9,750. Both sell quotes built on your forecast. [[3]](#src-3)

### C. Richpanel: about $5,485

Seats: 15 agents at $99 is $1,485. AI: 20,000 conversations at about $0.20 is about $4,000. The exact rate depends on the model you choose. [[4]](#src-4)

**The honest catch:** our meter counts every conversation the AI handles, not only the ones it resolves. At 50% resolution that is about $0.40 per resolved conversation. It is still under a third of the Gorgias rate.

At a lower resolution rate the gap narrows. At 30%, the Gorgias AI line at $0.90 falls to $5,400, for a $11,550 total. Richpanel stays near $5,485, because the meter tracks conversations, not outcomes.

## The 15-agent worked example

The saving is the smaller number. The bigger one is how much growth the same team can absorb.

| 15 agents, 20,000 conversations | Today | With AI at 50% |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Conversations your team answers | 20,000 | 10,000 |
| Per agent a working day (22 days) | ~61 | ~30 |
| Volume before the team is as busy as today | 20,000 | 40,000 |
| Platform cost a year, Gorgias AI vs Richpanel | $181,800 at $0.90 | ~$65,820 |

Your volume can double, or a Black Friday can land, before the team needs to grow. Your people keep the conversations that need judgment. The AI takes the where-is-my-order, the address change and the subscription skip.

Two Richpanel customers show the range. Aeons resolves 63% of conversations with AI, at 4.39 out of 5 AI CSAT against 4.33 for the team. Haus resolves 55% with no human. ## How Gorgias teams describe the moment they start looking

A plateau, not a disaster. In the deals we reviewed, the trigger was an AI that stopped getting better and a bill that kept growing. [[5]](#src-5)

### “It doesn’t feel like the AI is continuing to accelerate with Gorgias.”

CX leader, apparel brand. The AI worked, then flattened.

### “I did my best to coach it. I don’t think it’s me. I think it’s them.”

CX lead, beauty brand, at 15% automation.

### “An AI ticket shouldn’t be more expensive than a human ticket.”

CX leader, apparel brand, on paying for AI twice.

### “I don’t wanna keep hiring more people.”

Ecommerce operator, on volume outrunning the team.

## When staying on Gorgias is the right call

A migration costs your team two weeks of attention. In these five cases it does not pay that back.

### Your Gorgias AI already resolves 50%+.

If it resolves most of your volume at a rate you accept, keep it. Negotiate the per-interaction price at renewal instead.

### You run under 5,000 tickets a month.

Gorgias Advanced is $1,227 a month for 5,000 tickets and 530 AI interactions. Richpanel seats for 15 agents alone are $1,485.

### Voice has to live in the same inbox.

Gorgias sells voice as an add-on. Richpanel integrates with Aircall, Dialpad and JustCall, and does not host calls.

### You have many light users.

Gorgias does not price per agent. Basic and above include 500 user seats. Richpanel bills every human seat.

### No renewal, no pain.

If your team is happy and the contract runs another year, a switch has no deadline. Timing matters more than price.

## How the switch works: one cutover, about two weeks

Gorgias keeps serving your customers until you sign off. Then one cutover. There is no stretch where both helpdesks answer customers.

### 01. Test the AI on your own Gorgias tickets.

AI Manager reads your help center, policies and past tickets, then drafts your SOPs and brand voice. The AI runs against your hardest recent conversations before a customer sees one.

### 02. Move your history in an afternoon.

The Gorgias import moves conversations, contacts, tags and macros. Brands have moved hundreds of thousands of conversations in a single afternoon. Your team keeps working in Gorgias meanwhile.

### 03. You approve, then one cutover.

Email, chat, social and SMS point at Richpanel on one day. Start in collaborative mode, where a person approves each AI reply, and switch to autonomous when you are ready. Gorgias stays read-only for lookups.

### 04. We buy out your remaining term.

Up to 100% of the Gorgias contract you have left, so the renewal date stops deciding when you move.

### 05. 50% in 30 days, or every dollar back.

If the AI does not resolve half your eligible conversations within 30 days of go-live, you get every dollar back. [Guarantee terms](https://www.richpanel.com/trust/guarantee-terms).

## What to pull before you decide

Four numbers from your own account settle this faster than any vendor page.

- **Last 30 days:** tickets, automated interactions and the invoice. Divide the AI line by resolved tickets.
- **Resolution trend:** your AI rate for each of the last six months. Flat for three months is a plateau.
- **Renewal date:** inside 90 days, start now. Past that, ask for a buyout quote.
- **A quote at your volume:** ask Gorgias for the custom-plan price at 20,000. Put it beside this table.

## Limits of this comparison

- **List prices, not quotes.** Gorgias above 5,000 tickets, Yuma and Siena all sell custom quotes. Treat the table as a ceiling to negotiate from.
- **One resolution rate.** We used 50% for every option. Your rate on each will differ, and a trial on your tickets is the only way to know it.
- **Platform cost only.** Salaries, implementation time and voice vendors are excluded from every column.
- **We sell option C.** Check every figure against the sources below.

## Questions from teams already on Gorgias

### Should I turn on Gorgias AI Agent or switch helpdesks?

Turn it on if you run under 5,000 tickets a month or it already resolves 50%+ at a price you accept. Switch if it plateaued and your renewal is near. At 20,000 conversations the platform bill is $15,150 to $20,832 a month on Gorgias AI and about $5,485 on Richpanel.

### How much does Gorgias AI Agent cost at 20,000 conversations a month?

At 50% resolution on list rates, $15,150 to $20,832 a month with the helpdesk. Each automated interaction also counts as a helpdesk ticket, so a resolved conversation pays $0.90 to $1.50 for AI plus $0.36 for the ticket.

### Can I keep Gorgias and add Yuma or Siena?

Yes. It is the smallest change. At 20,000 conversations and 50% resolution, Gorgias plus Yuma is about $13,650 a month and Gorgias plus Siena about $15,900, since the Gorgias helpdesk still bills every ticket.

### Do we run Gorgias and Richpanel side by side during the switch?

No. Gorgias serves customers until you sign off, then one cutover moves every channel. The AI is tested on your past Gorgias tickets before that day. We can buy out up to 100% of your remaining Gorgias term.

### Does automating half our tickets mean a smaller team?

It means the same team can handle twice the volume. Fifteen agents answering 10,000 conversations instead of 20,000 have room for growth and peak season without new hires.

### Does Richpanel charge only when the AI resolves a ticket?

No. The AI meter is about $0.20 per conversation it handles, resolved or not, plus $99 per human seat on annual terms. There is a $200 monthly AI minimum.
