Can Richpanel's AI agent change a shipping address?

The short answer

Yes, before the order ships. Richpanel's AI agent updates the address on a Shopify order or draft order. If you ship from ShipHero, it updates the warehouse label too. For Recharge and Loop subscriptions, it changes the address for future orders. It never fills in an address the customer did not give.

What the AI checks before it edits

The customer. Identity is confirmed first when your store requires it, and the order must belong to that customer.
Shipping status. Once the label prints, an address change in Shopify no longer reaches the parcel. The AI reads the order status first.
The address itself. It comes from the customer's message, nowhere else.
The order type. Regular orders and draft orders use different Shopify calls. The AI picks the one that matches.

Why the AI cannot invent an address

Addresses, order numbers, tracking numbers and links are facts the AI may not fill in from memory. A reply carrying one that is not in the conversation or a tool result is held before it sends.

The AI then fetches the real value, rewrites the reply without it, or hands the conversation to a person.

Who approves an address change

Update Shipping Address has its own permission: Always allow, or Require approval. An action with no permission set waits for approval by default.

Many teams let address fixes run on their own while refunds wait. The choice is per action.

When the AI hands it to your team

Shipped orders go to your team. So do incomplete addresses and requests where the order is unclear.

A hand-off takes three steps. The AI saves an internal note with the reason. It sends the customer one reply on what happens next. The conversation stays open for your team.

If your playbook names a hand-off mode, the AI switches the conversation to Manual or Co-Pilot. No further AI reply then goes out on its own.

What if the order already shipped?
