Richpanel bills two things: helpdesk seats for your people, and the AI by the conversation. No plan tiers, no credit packs, no per-order portal fee. Here is every rate, the arithmetic at three real volumes, and the parts that cost extra.

How much does Richpanel cost?

The short answer

Richpanel costs $99 per helpdesk seat per month on an annual commitment, plus about $0.20 for every conversation the AI handles, with a $200 per month minimum on the AI. There are no plan tiers and no per-agent AI fee. A 10 seat team handling 5,000 conversations a month pays about $1,990 a month, or $23,880 a year. Monthly billing costs 20 percent more than annual and on demand costs 30 percent more. Returns and Exchanges is a separate paid add-on starting at $99 a month. The self-service portal, the QA agent, and the social media agent are free on every plan.

That is the whole rate card. The rest of this page explains the AI meter, shows the arithmetic at three team sizes, states plainly what is not included, and compares the pricing model to Gorgias, Zendesk, and Intercom Fin. Structure

How Richpanel pricing is structured.

Four facts explain almost every question people ask about the bill.

Two line items, one product. The AI and the helpdesk are sold together. Seats cover the humans who handle the exceptions; the meter covers the conversations the AI handles end to end. The helpdesk is never sold on its own, and there is no path where you buy ticketing now and add AI later. If you only want a ticketing inbox, Richpanel is the wrong purchase.

There are no plan tiers. No Starter, Pro, or Enterprise ladder sits on the two primary lines. Every customer pays the same $99 seat rate on an annual commitment and the same metered AI rate. Nothing is gated behind a higher plan, so there is no upgrade you have to buy to unlock a feature you already need.

The AI is metered, not a seat. AI is priced per conversation, not per agent and not as a fixed monthly agent SKU. This is the trade at the centre of the model: your bill moves with conversation volume rather than with headcount. That is good if your volume grows faster than your team, and it is worth understanding before you sign, because a busy month costs more than a quiet one.

Your billing term sets the rate. Annual and committed is the base rate. Looser terms cost more, on both the seat and the AI credit, on the same schedule.

The AI meter

What does Richpanel AI cost per conversation?

About $0.20 on an annual commitment. Here is the machinery underneath that number, so you can forecast a bill rather than trust one.

The AI runs on credits, and you choose the model. Claude, GPT, and Gemini are all selectable, along with the token budget. Each conversation draws credits at a rate that depends on the model you picked. The marketing reference model, Gemini 2.5 Flash, uses 0.41 credits per conversation. At the annual credit rate of $0.50, that is $0.205, which is where the $0.20 figure comes from. Pick a heavier model and the credits per conversation rise. That is your call, and the rate is visible before you make it.

The meter has a $200 per month minimum and bills in $100 blocks. The formula is: conversations, times credits per conversation, times the credit rate for your term, rounded to the nearest $100 block, with a $200 floor. At 5,000 conversations that is 2,050 credits, or $1,025 of usage, billed as $1,000.

Below roughly 1,200 conversations a month, the floor is what you pay. This is the honest edge of the model and it cuts against us at small volume. A month with 1,000 conversations costs the $200 minimum, which works out to exactly 20 cents a conversation. A month with 500 conversations also costs $200, which is 40 cents a conversation. If your volume sits well under a thousand a month, the effective rate you pay is meaningfully above the headline.

The entire pricing formula: (seats × the seat rate for your term) + (conversations × credits per conversation × the credit rate for your term, rounded to the nearest $100 block, minimum $200). There is no tier table to look up and no discount ladder to negotiate into.

Included at no cost

Is the self-service portal included in Richpanel pricing?

Yes. The self-service portal is free on every Richpanel plan, with no per-order fee and no volume tier. Customers track orders, start returns, and change account details without opening a ticket, and none of that traffic bills.

Two other agents are free on the same terms. The QA Agent reviews closed conversations and reports the knowledge gaps, missing tool calls, and instruction fixes that would have prevented each miss. The Social Media Agent handles comments and DMs in the same inbox as email and chat. Neither carries a per-seat or per-conversation charge.

One correction worth stating plainly, because stale figures circulate. Richpanel has retired the 2023 pricing model entirely. There is no seat ladder at $29, $49, and $99 by plan. There is no per-seat Sidekick AI fee, no per-user AI feature fee, and no monthly social media moderator fee. And the self-service portal is not sold as a paid add-on with per-order price bands. Any breakdown describing those SKUs is describing a product that no longer exists. The current model is the one in the rate card above: seats, plus a metered AI line, plus three free agents.

The honest exclusions

What is not included, and what costs extra.

Every pricing page should have this section near the top rather than buried. Here is ours.

Two things people expect to be extra, and are not. Migration is white glove and not billed as a line item: historical conversations, macros, and tags import from Gorgias or Zendesk, and your current helpdesk stays live until the Richpanel setup is verified, at which point you cut over once. Richpanel will also buy out up to 100 percent of the remaining term on your existing contract, which is what makes a mid-term switch financially neutral rather than a double payment.

Worked examples

What Richpanel costs by team size.

Three scenarios, with the arithmetic shown. Seat counts are human agents; conversation counts are total inbound conversations a month, which is what the AI meter reads.

3 seats, about 1,000 conversations a month

Annual commitment. Seats: 3 × $99 = $297. AI: 1,000 conversations × 0.41 credits = 410 credits; at $0.50 a credit that is $205 of usage, which rounds to the $200 block and equals the monthly minimum, so $200. Total $497 a month, $5,964 a year. All in, with seats included, that is about 50 cents per conversation.

Billed monthly instead. Seats: 3 × $119 = $357. AI: $240. Total $597 a month, $7,164 a year.

10 seats, about 5,000 conversations a month

Annual commitment. Seats: 10 × $99 = $990. AI: 5,000 × 0.41 = 2,050 credits; at $0.50 that is $1,025 of usage, billed as $1,000. Total $1,990 a month, $23,880 a year. All in, about 40 cents per conversation.

Billed monthly instead. Seats: 10 × $119 = $1,190. AI: $1,200. Total $2,390 a month, $28,680 a year.

25 seats, about 20,000 conversations a month

Annual commitment. Seats: 25 × $99 = $2,475. AI: 20,000 × 0.41 = 8,200 credits; at $0.50 that is $4,100. Total $6,575 a month, $78,900 a year. All in, about 33 cents per conversation.

Billed monthly instead. Seats: 25 × $119 = $2,975. AI: $4,920. Total $7,895 a month, $94,740 a year.

Notice what the three rows show: the all-in cost per conversation falls as volume rises, from about 50 cents to about 33 cents, because the seat line grows more slowly than the conversation count. That is the shape of the model. It is also why it prices badly for very small teams, which the comparison section below covers honestly.

Reading the multiples

Marginal versus blended: what actually drops.

Two multiples get quoted about Richpanel's AI. Both are marginal, meaning they compare the cost of one AI-handled conversation against one conversation handled another way. Neither is the amount your total support budget falls. Mixing those up is the single most common error in AI support business cases, including in our own early decks, so here is both numbers with the labels attached.

The marginal multiples

About 15x below a human answer. The arithmetic: a support agent costing $1,500 to $2,000 a month fully loaded and handling roughly 580 conversations works out to about $3 a conversation. Against $0.20, that is a factor of about 15.

About 5x below what other AI charges per resolution. Gorgias bills about $0.90 per AI resolution on an annual contract, Intercom Fin bills $0.99, and Siena and Sierra sit in the $1 to $2 range, giving a spread of roughly 4.5x to 10x [2][3][4].

Where the marginal multiple shrinks, and you should use your own number. If your agents cost $1,000 a month, they are running closer to $1.70 a conversation, and the multiple is nearer 8x than 15x. Teams running offshore support at low hourly rates compress it further, sometimes to the point where the AI reads as cost parity per ticket rather than a saving. If that describes you, the honest case for switching is response time, coverage, and management overhead, not labour arbitrage.

The blended number, which is what a CFO should budget

Worked example. A 20 agent team handling 20,000 conversations a month, at $1,600 a month fully loaded per agent, is paying $32,000 in payroll. Add a stacked helpdesk and AI bill at roughly $200 per loaded seat and you are at about $36,000 a month.

Now move to 50 percent AI resolution and keep 10 agents. Payroll is $16,000. Richpanel seats are 10 × $99 = $990. The AI on 20,000 conversations is $4,100. Total: $21,090 a month. That is a blended saving of about $14,900 a month, or roughly 41 percent. Run the same model with $1,000 a month agents and the blended saving lands near 37 percent.

So the honest headline is that a 50 percent automation model takes something like a third to two fifths off total support cost. It does not take 93 percent off, which is what a naive reading of 15x would imply. The 15x figure only ever describes a single ticket, and roughly half your tickets are still going to a human in this model.

For a measured figure rather than a model: Sean Frank, CEO of Ridge, reports that "Our cost per ticket dropped 70%. That is about $500K back every year, and CSAT climbed from 88% to 96%." [5] That is one company's result on its own volume and cost base, not a promise about yours.

Model comparison

How does Richpanel pricing compare to Gorgias, Zendesk, and Fin?

This is a comparison of pricing models, not a vendor ranking, and it is published by one of the vendors in it, so read it as labeled rather than neutral. The structural question is how many meters run on a single AI-resolved conversation. Competitor figures were checked against their public pricing pages on July 28, 2026.

Where the others price better, plainly

At small volume Richpanel is the more expensive option, and pretending otherwise would make the rest of this page worthless. A one person shop handling 200 conversations a month pays $99 for the seat plus the $200 AI minimum, or $299 a month. On an entry ticket plan plus per-resolution AI, the same month elsewhere can land near a hundred dollars. Below roughly 1,000 conversations a month, a per-ticket or per-seat vendor will usually price better than we do, and the $200 floor is working against you.

Each of the three also has a genuine strength the price table does not capture. Gorgias has the deepest native Shopify ecosystem and app marketplace. Zendesk has the broadest platform, mature governance, and enterprise credibility that wins risk-averse evaluations outright. Fin has the largest install base of the three and the deepest in-app product-messaging integration. If you are already getting real value from any of that, the second meter may be a price worth paying.

Where the single meter wins

The comparison flips as repeat volume grows, because the second meter is the line that compounds. On a seat-plus-resolution model, a successful AI deployment raises the AI line while the seat line stays flat, so getting better at automation costs you more. On Richpanel's model there is one meter to forecast and one rate to check. That is the argument, and it is worth exactly as much as your volume makes it worth.

Two details that matter for how you budget. First, the guarantee attaches to the metered AI agents line, not to a paid onboarding package: there is no setup kit to buy, and no separate success fee. Second, a milestone-payment structure is available for finance-gated deals, where half is paid up front and half after the milestone is hit.   2. The model and credits-per-conversation you are being quoted on. The $0.20 figure assumes a specific reference model. Confirm which model your quote assumes and what a heavier one would do to the meter.
  3. The overage behaviour. How top-up blocks trigger, what happens if you blow through a month's credits, and what your credits' expiry window is on your term.
  4. The guarantee terms and the exit. How resolution is measured, what counts as eligible, what the refund covers, and what leaving costs mid-term.

So a resolved conversation costs the automated-interaction fee plus the helpdesk ticket it consumes. The exception is a handoff: when the AI gives up, you pay only the ticket. Zendesk bills a per-agent Suite seat of $55 to $115 plus $50 for Copilot and $50 for the Workforce Engagement bundle, then meters automated resolutions past a small included allowance.
